"In Australia, Soliris is only available to trial patients and those on a compassionate use scheme until May 2011.  The only way Soliris can be funded in Australia is through the Life Saving Drugs Programme.  Funding through the LSDP is only available to ultra-orphan life saving drugs and the Australian Government has refused to approve this.  We were hoping it would be funded in the recent Federal Budget declared on 11 May 2010 and were devastated when it was not."
